Bristol Hip Surgery

Our responsibilities for this project:
  • Creating an online design language from a site with minimal previous branding
  • Build of a fully responsive website
  • Specific page focused on Mr Jason Webb, his background, expertise and academic record
  • Pages covering common information and questions on procedures covered
  • Dynamic patient stories that can be added to as time goes on
  • Showcasing outcomes on third party sites such as the National Joint Registry, Iwantgreatcare and Spire Healthcare for transparency and to showcase track record
  • Extensive FAQs tagged with schema for search engine recognition
  • Blog area with categorisation and filtering
  • Dynamic contact form that changes information displayed and contact routing based on user selection

Mr Jason Webb is a leading consultant orthopaedic surgeon based in Bristol, who is renowned internationally as an expert in the prevention of joint replacement infection. Hence his online home – Bristol Hip Surgery.

We were put in touch by one of Jason’s family members who found Ethical Pixels on a local search in Preston, connecting us with Bristol from across the country.

Although Jason had an existing website, the design was somewhat dated, and there was concern that the site was not properly facilitating the journeys of key audiences.

Prospective patients (and their family members or carers) needed to be able to find the site for key conditions relevant to Mr Webb’s specialities, understand the different options and procedures available to them, see how to get in touch, and be aware of what would happen when they do.

We also suggested that more focus could be put on the positive outcomes that Jason’s patients have already enjoyed. All of this would be wrapped up in a modern, responsive website that can be easily managed and updated by the Bristol Hip Surgery team.

Strong design language & responsive layout

We developed a cohesive online design language for Bristol Hip Surgery, starting from minimal existing branding. A refined colour palette with different shades of blue, welcoming but professional looking typography, and a clear visual hierarchy were introduced to convey professionalism, empathy, and trust. The site is built to be fully responsive, so it seamlessly adjusts to whatever screen the patients are browsing from.

The site features:

SEO-Focused Personal Page

A dedicated page was created to highlight Mr Jason Webb’s background, expertise, and academic achievements, serving as a central point for patients researching him by name. The page was strategically written and structured with SEO best practices, targeting search terms like “Bristol Hip Surgery” and “Jason Webb” to improve discoverability on search engines.

Procedure Info & FAQs

Comprehensive pages were developed to cover each surgical and non-surgical procedure in detail, supported by extensive FAQs addressing common patient concerns. These FAQs were tagged and structured for SEO, improving organic visibility while making it easy for patients to find clear, authoritative answers to their questions in a user-friendly format.

Dynamic Patient Stories

The Outcomes section was enhanced with dynamic patient stories that can be added to at any time. Also, links to reviews from the National Joint Registry, iWantGreatCare, and Spire Healthcare were included. This integration not only builds trust through third-party validation but also provides prospective patients with tangible evidence of Mr Webb’s track record.

Blog/News Area with Filters

A new news section was introduced, allowing content to be categorised and filtered by topic. This makes it easier for users to quickly find relevant updates, patient stories, and procedure-specific information, while also improving the site’s SEO through well-structured content.

Context-Sensitive Contact Form

The contact form was redesigned to adapt dynamically based on user selections, displaying location-specific maps, relevant contact details, and routing messages directly to the appropriate recipient. This reduces friction in the enquiry process and ensures users receive the right information and response quickly.

"I am very impressed by Larry and the team at Ethical Pixels. They have completely redesigned my website. From concept planning through design and build stages they have made the process very easy for me. Another area in which they excel is their aftercare - which has been prompt and responsive. I have had a lot of positive feedback regarding the site and that is all down to Ethical Pixels."
Jason Webb,

The previous site was replaced without any issues or interruption to web or email service. Ethical Pixels have also taken on hosting of the site, which is powered by 100% renewable energy, as verified by the Green Web Foundation

We’re really glad that Jason had such a good experience, both during and after the build of the website.

If you have hip issues and are in need of advice (or even surgery), you might want to consider getting in touch with Mr Jason Webb.
