Oxley Design & Construction

Our responsibilities for this project:
  • Design and build of a new, responsive site to showcase the business and offering
  • A sleek new look reflective of the premium service offered by Oxley Design & Construction
  • Introduction of limited motion design to draw attention to key stats and options in a way compatible with overall usability
  • Creation of an extensible ‘projects’ area allowing the client to showcase the range and quality of their work and add to the area over time as new works are completed
  • Dynamic testimonials linked the projects and services
  • A range of contact options to suit all users

When Oxley Design & Construction reached out to us for a discussion about refreshing their website, the first thing we wanted to understand (as usual with any client who has a site already) was why they felt their current website needed a change.

The firm was using a Wix-based website that was self-constructed and had done the job for a time, but they were beginning to run up against the limitations and inflexibility of the service. We’re all too familiar with the pitfalls of using ‘build-it-yourself’ solutions (having written extensively on the subject) and reassured Oxley Design & Construction that their site could be transitioned easily and made far more bespoke and professional.

They wanted the site to be streamlined with a custom design that better reflected the high-end service they provide as their business grows. The new site would feature a luxury, minimal look-and-feel leverage existing photography and media to encourage prospective clients to get in touch. The branding and colour schemes would remain the same.

As we learned more about Oxley’s work, especially their specialism in inclusive design and construction to give people living with disabilities more freedom and independence in their own home, we knew the project was right up our street and set to work.

Responsive Design with Premium, Sleek Visual Style

As with all our sites, the Oxley Design & Construction site adapts fluidly across different screen sizes, ensuring critical content remains accessible and visually appealing on mobile, tablet, and desktop. This improves overall usability and reflects a polished, professional brand image. A minimalist, refined aesthetic with clean layout, sophisticated typography, and a restrained colour palette reflects the high-end, premium service Oxley provides. This design reinforces trust and positions the brand effectively.

The site features:

Subtle Motion to Guide Attention

Thoughtful motion design such as animated stats and gentle hover effects have been used strategically to draw attention to key offerings and highlighted projects. Subtlety in motion design is key so as to not overwhelm the user but still be enough to catch their eye, balancing engagement and elegance.

Service offering details

Oxley offers two key services, each briefly outlined on a central hub page that links to dedicated service pages featuring detailed descriptions, examples, and relevant testimonials. As the service offering grows and changes over time, it is also simple to add, change or remove services to the overall offering with our page builder interface.

Expandable Projects Gallery

The Projects page features a modular showcase, presenting each project with an image, location, and brief description, all linking to a dedicated page with more detailed information. This section is built in a way that allows Oxley to easily add new projects as their portfolio grows, and allows users to filter these projects by the features relevant to them.

Dynamic Testimonials

Testimonials are dynamically linked to specific projects and service types ensuring that only the relevant testimonials appear on the right pages. To further enhance credibility, testimonials are woven throughout the site, appearing on key pages like Home, Contact, Services and even have an entire page dedicated exclusively to them.

Clear Contact Options

Calls-to-action appear persistently in the navigation and within the main sections, making it easy for visitors to initiate enquiries. The Contact page itself highlights the different ways to reach out to Oxley allowing users several options.

Highlighting sponsorship

As proud sponsors of local team Preston North End, Oxley Design & Construction wanted to showcase their support. Specific visual elements were created to draw attention to this on the site.

"I came across Ethical Pixels whilst looking for a local web developer to create a website for our building company. From the first point of contact Larry was so helpful and explained everything so clearly. We had a vision of what we wanted to achieve and Larry was able to bring this to life for us, the website has never looked better!"
Oli Oxley,

The new website was tested and transitioned from a dedicated development environment to replace the previous site without any issues or interruption to web or email service. Ethical Pixels have also taken on hosting of the site, which is powered by 100% renewable energy, as verified by the Green Web Foundation

We’ve been stoked by the team’s excitement for the new site and their positive comments on how it’s been received. We hope to continue supporting Oxley Design & Construction in their digital journey.
