We first met the lovely folks over at PondHop Digital through a mutual client, and found we not only had a lot in common, but got on like a house on fire too.
During our early interactions, the agency developed an urgent issue that we were able to lend some expertise to in the moment. Always happy to help, we were pleased to know this put Ethical Pixels at the forefront when it come to conversations about new projects. In fact, when it came to reframing what PondHop do best – affordable, data-driven online marketing – they asked us to do what we do best and help with their new website.
The brief was simple – with a catch. PondHop wanted a one-page concept to showcase their refined personality and offering, which is simple enough, but also wanted the site to provide a secure area for clients to log in, via which they would provide a custom-built dashboard (the Control Centre) they had created for each client, showcasing the cross-channel performance of all their client’s digital marketing campaigns and accounts in one view. This part of their strategy to increase transparency between agency and client was right up our street, so we got thinking about how we could implement this simply and securely.

Although the footprint of the website is relatively small, it’s no less critical to get all the details right. With a detailed and achievable brief from PondHop, and a little back-and-forth on the design elements, we began to implement the site:

A bold, sleek new look
The site pairs a dark background with striking green accents and bold, oversized headings, creating a premium and forward-looking feel. At the same time, generous use of negative space combined with short, concise text areas give it a clean, sleek edge. Existing artwork has been creatively incorporated into the site which adds to the site’s personality.
A one page layout
All the information about PondHop (aside from the control centre) is neatly contained on a single, scrollable page, easily navigated via the top menu. This layout not only makes the content simple to explore and digest, but also keeps the site light and fast to load.

The Dashboard
Once logged into the site, each of PondHop’s clients has access to a custom dashboard created by the agency and integrated with the site. This helps their clients keep track of all the marketing campaigns being currently run in one simple view. The site allows PondHop to add more users and dashboards over time.

Dedicated user area
A dedicated space for clients to manage their own accounts was included, with options to update their details and password. The site also allows users to recover their access, keeping administration time to a minimum.

Custom micro-case study carousel
To keep the one-page philosophy front-and0-centre, we created a small component on the homepage itself to showcase PondHop’s amazing track record with clients.

Extensible Testimonials
To demonstrate their expertise, we included a testimonial carousel and key statistics just below the case studies. This element will update and show more testimonials as PondHop adds more success stories.
Subtle motion design
We incorporated subtle micro-animations into the website, which added to its futuristic aesthetic and made it more visually dynamic when users interact.

Ultimately, the team at PondHop were delighted with the website and have had great feedback so far.
Ethical Pixels also took on hosting of the site, to avoid any unforeseen performance issues with regard to running a secure login area, and were also able to migrate PondHop digital onto hosting powered by 100% renewable energy, as verified by the Green Web Foundation.
