Frequently Asked Questions
What platform do you use for e-commerce?
We use WooCommerce, the leading ecommerce plugin for WordPress. This makes sense to us as WordPress is the platform we use to build all our websites. It’s flexible, secure, and open-source, meaning you own your store, your data, and your future.
We also integrate with other systems when appropriate, but WooCommerce allows us to build tailored, professional online shops without locking you into proprietary platforms.
How many products can my ecommerce shop have?
While there is a theoretical upper limit, a properly configured ecommerce website can support in excess of tens of thousands of products. The key consideration is how you categorise products, and how people will find the right product via your store interface. We don’t price based on the number of products, but the complexity in product range, layouts, flows and different permutations.
Will my shop be easy to manage?
Absolutely. You’ll be able to update products, prices, and stock directly from your dashboard, no code required. We design clean, intuitive interfaces so you can focus on running your business, not learning new software.
Can you help set up payments and shipping?
Yes – we’ll help configure everything from tax rates and shipping options to payment gateways and automated receipts. We can also integrate with systems like Stripe or Royal Mail to simplify things like payment and fulfilment.
How much does it cost to take online payments?
This depends on who your payment gateway is, as each provider will usually take either a flat fee per transaction, a percentage of the transaction, or some combination of both.
For legal reasons, and to keep your commercial relationships simple, we require site owners to create and maintain accounts directly with their payment gateway providers, we just help them to talk to one another.
What about product variations, subscriptions, etc?
No problem. WooCommerce supports complex product types including variations, memberships, digital downloads, event tickets, and recurring subscriptions.
Can you integrate with my existing systems?
Probably – we regularly connect ecommerce sites with CRMs, accounting tools (like Xero or QuickBooks), mailing lists, and stock management systems.
If it has a documented API or integration, there’s a good chance we can make it talk to your website.
What if I already have a store elsewhere?
We can most likely migrate your existing products, orders, and customers to a new WordPress/WooCommerce store. This gives you more flexibility, lower long-term costs, and full ownership of your data.
What does an e-commerce project cost?
Costs depend on size and complexity, from simple shops with a few products to advanced systems with subscriptions, memberships, or integrations.
We’ll always give you a clear, itemised quote up front with no hidden fees, so you know exactly what you’re paying for, but due to the complexity you should expect ecommerce websites to start from £3-5k.
